Marcus Damon

(大門 大 Daimon Masaru)

Marcus Damon

His name, Masaru, means Victory in Japanese. He is the first human lead of any Digimon series, excluding C'mon Digimon, that doesn't wear goggles. Marcus is also the first human protagonist to physically hurt Digimon on a regular basis.

Marcus is presented as a fourteen year-old student who loves to fight. He lives with his mother and younger sister Kristy. Marcus meets and fights Agumon in the first episode of the series. When the fight ends in a draw, Agumon agrees to become his partner. Soon afterwards he's recruited as a member of DATS. As Marcus's partner, Agumon idolizes him and refers to him as his "aniki" (a Japanese colloquialism for "older brother," used in this case with the connotation of "boss" as seen in the Yakuza).

Marcus is one of the few humans shown to fight Digimon by himself, though he still counts on Agumon's help to fight the stronger opponents. Even though other humans can evoke their DNA charges by themselves, Marcus must usually connect a punch on an enemy to do so, subsequently using it to digivolve Agumon.

  • Game Description about Marcus Damon

A 14-year-old, 8th-grade boy who wouldn't miss a chance to fight. He made Agumon his Partner Digimon after defeating it. Impressed by his distinguished performance - such as his evolving Agumon to GeoGreymon - the Commander of DATS asked him to join.

Thomas H. Norstein

(トーマ・H・ノルシュタイン Tohma H. Norstein)

Thomas H. Norstein

Thomas is a 14-year-old boy genius who graduated from the Stockholm Royal University of Science at the age of 13. His abilities are considered elite, even within DATS. He bases his operations on data and theoretical principles, and as such his personality clashes with Marcus's. His mother is Japanese and his father is a prominent Austrian aristocrat named Franz Norstein. Franz and Thomas' mother met while she was an exchange student in Austria, and Thomas lived with his mother in Japan until she died. He was taken back to Austria. He also has a younger half sister, Relena, who suffers from a strange disease. It is never shown who Relena's mother is, but she died of complications during childbirth. While Thomas does not particularly care for his cold father (at least not until after the events of episode 42), he does love his sister very much and does whatever he can to protect her.

Calm and shrewd, he is the exact opposite of Marcus and sees him as a rival. He has an elitist attitude but he gets emotional when thinking of his mother, who died years ago when she was hit by a speeding truck while on their way to a festival when he was young. Thomas's loyal partner is Gaomon, who always addresses him as "sir" and gets angry easily when he thinks someone is not treating Thomas with the proper respect. It has still yet to be revealed how the two actually met.

  • Game Description about Thomas H. Norstein

Although he is only 14, he received his university degree at the age of 12. DATS has determined his intelligence to be very high. He has very high self-confidence in his ability to perform tasks, based on both theory and evidence. Such a calm and rational tendency often conflicts with Marcus Damon, who tends to react compulsively.

Yoshino Fujieda

(藤枝 淑乃 Fujieda Yoshino)

Yoshino Fujieda

At eighteen years of age, she is the oldest member of the group, compared to Marcus Damon and Thomas H. Norstein, who are both fourteen years old. Yoshi is independent and sees herself as an older sister figure to her two teammates. Her catchphrase is "This is the worst".

Despite her mature demeanor, she hides a terrible burden from her childhood and because of it, she has difficulty believing in her ability to do anything. When she was younger, Yoshino dealt with a severe inferiority complex which stems from being unable to be as good as her sisters at anything (the most noteworthy incident was a piano recital). As a result, years later, she still secretly worried about being useless to anyone. Lalamon had been aware of her suffering for some time and helped her to overcome it. The problem is revealed as the result of a trend where Yoshi and Lalamon would have problems during battles in the early part of the series.

Her partner is Lalamon, with whom she is quite friendly. Lalamon slowly says her name when she comes out of the Digivice, as "La...la...mon."

When the DATS Digimon had to go back to the Digital World, Yoshi and Lalamon spend their last day at an arcade but Yoshi accidentally destroys a punch game with her DNA charge.

  • Game Description about Yoshino Fujieda

An 18-year-old girl, the oldest of the Tamers She takes care of other Tamers. She is the one who usually sorts out everything in the team. Everyone in DATS trusts her. But she often dumps annoying or hard tasks on boys like Marcus Damon and Thomas H. Norstein.

Keenan Crier

(野口 イクト Noguchi Ikuto)

Keenan Crier

How opposed to the other members of DATS, Marcus Damon, Yoshino Fujieda, and Thomas H. Norstein, Keenan did not live in the human world, nor did he originally have a particular liking for it. Though originally born on Earth to the DATS scientists Kevin and Michelle Crier, he was accidentally transported to the Digital World as an infant. In the Digital World, he was raised by a Frigimon. Keenan, like most archetypal wild people, refers to himself with a "me" instead of an "I", despite the fact that the Digimon he grew up with have proper vocabulary. Following her death, he was raised by Merukimon. He believes in defending the peace of the Digital World, and also believed that humans were nothing but a threat to it, possibly due to Kurata's attack. Despite his young age, Keenan has great fighting skill (many of his moves mirror the ninja-like aspects of Falcomon). He wields a boomerang, and wears a cape and a necklace adorned with feathers, and also has facepaint.

When Keenan was transported to the Digital World as an infant, he was protected by Falcomon and a Frigimon. He was sickly as a young boy; at one point Frigimon went to find medicine left behind by humans that had been in the Digital World. But after nursing him back to health, the evil scientist Kurata came to the Digital World to try and annihilate the Digimon in an act of genocide. Though Kurata was eventually defeated, he was able to destroy many Digimon, amongst them was Keenan's Frigimon mother, who was destroyed before his very eyes while trying to protect him. This event is crucial to Keenan's hatred of humanity, as he came to believe that all humans were evil and became dedicated to defending the Digital World from them.

  • Game Description about Keenan Krier

A boy who has grown up in the Digital World. The son of Kevin Krier, he is a renowned researcher in Super Dimensions. He grew up in the Digital World after he was separated from his parents due to a tragic accident. Naturally, he came to believe that he is a Digimon.

This leads him to moments of friction and guilt between his best friend and rival Matt, his oldest friend Sora Takenouchi, as well as his Digimon partner Agumon. As a true leader, however, he manages to do whatever is necessary to rectify the situation, and in times of need, save friends and family from certain doom. He is the bearer of the Crest of Courage.

Takeru

Takeru is a character in the anime and manga series Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. He is the younger brother of Yamato "Matt" Ishida. He is partnered with Patamon, and embodies the trait of Hope.

Four years before Digimon Adventure, T.K. lived with his parents and brother at Highton View Terrace, where he and his brother witnessed the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon. This event caused the two to be chosen to be among the new DigiDestined.

Sometime later, his parents divorced for unknown reasons. Matt was given the decision of who each child should live with, and while he was unwilling to abandon his father, he sent T.K. to live with their mother. Original Story: 2½ Year Break T.K. was too young to remember his parents' divorce clearly, and so was not as affected by it as much as Matt, and remained quite cheerful throughout the series. She also tends to put others' wellbeing and happiness before hers. She is partnered with Gatomon and bearer of the trait of Light.

After that incident, she remained a rather sickly girl, and was not able to go to the camp with the others due to an illness. However, when Taichi and his own Koromon showed up at the Yagami residence, she welcomed them and immediately knew that Koromon was a Digimon, not thinking he was weird at all.

Later, Myotismon came to the Real World and used the Crest of Light, as well as duplicates of it, to try and locate the eighth Chosen Child. Taichi and the others came back to the Real World to search of the Chosen Child as well. In the end, it was Gatomon, one of Myotismon's most trustworthy servants, who found Hikari, and discovered that she was the eighth Chosen Child and her partner. Sora Takenouchi

(武之内 空 Takenouchi Sora)

Sora

Sora was very tomboyish, being the only girl in the school's soccer team, where she was the teammate of Yagami Taichi and Izumi Koushiro. A caring person, she was very protective of the group, and acted almost as a motherly figure, especially to Tachikawa Mimi and Takaishi Takeru. She often acted as a voice of reason to the others, especially during Taichi and Ishida Yamato's arguments.

When Taichi and MetalGreymon disappeared following the defeat of Etemon, Sora and Biyomon were the first to split from the group, in search of Taichi. They overheard DemiDevimon discussing the Crests with Myotismon, and DemiDevimon, who found them out, told Sora that her own Crest will never activate because she doesn't know real love. Sora certainly felt that way; Sora's father was mostly absent, spending most of his time teaching in Kyoto, and she often argued with her mother, Toshiko, who wanted Sora to quit soccer and study the art of flower arranging (ikebana - 生花). Sora and Biyomon ended up traveling and helping the other separated Chosen Children from behind the scenes, until Taichi brought them all together and convinced her to rejoin them. As Myotismon attacked the group head-on, Biyomon was injured but tried to fight despite this. Sora tried to hold her back, and realized that in trying to protect Biyomon, she was just like her mother. Realizing that her mother does love her and care for her triggered her Crest of Love, and the newly-evolved Garudamon drove Vamdemon off. Finally, Sora was able to make peace with her mother.

When the children were fighting the Dark Masters and split up again, Sora was extremely protective of everyone in her group and tried to put everything on herself, even when she couldn't handle it. This eventually led her to trap herself in a dark cave like Yamato who, along with Kido Jou, eventually helped her escape.

Henry Wong

(李 健良 Lee Jianliang)

Henry

Jianliang is half-Chinese and half-Japanese: his father (Jiang-yu) is Chinese and his mother (Mayumi) is Japanese. He is the third of four siblings: he has a 17-year-old brother, Rinchei, and a 15-year-old sister, Jaarin, as well as a 7-year-old sister, Lee Shaochung. Along with his father, Jianliang is a Tai Chi student, studying the art of combat under a Sensei who was a good friend of his family. In a moment of self-reflection, Jianliang confessed that he had been an extremely wilful child, and that his numerous siblings had literally forced him to become self-reliant and independent. His study of the martial-arts was also revealed to be a way of asserting himself to stand out amongst the undeniably large family. Once, he got into a serious argument with a neighbourhood child and, presumably in a moment of childish thoughtlessness, injured his "opponent" using his Tai Chi skills - something which he grew to intensely regret later on.

Since then, Jianliang devoted himself to constantly practicing the art of self-restraint, as he feared that he might hurt someone else with his considerable combat skills if he were to lose control of his emotions. The result was that he became a responsible, quiet, and soft-spoken person who always conducted himself with a maturity far beyond his age, but also with a tendency of blaming himself for things that were not his fault at all. Another downside to this was that he had few - if any, at all - friends (though unproven, of course, the series showed that Terriermon and the other Tamers were the only friends he had). When he was first introduced he was practical and knowledgeable yet reserved, always clashing with the seemingly cold and indifferent Ruki, and always willingly helping Takato with digimon-related troubles. As the series progressed, he developed a more open and engaging personality, and learnt that there were some battles that one had to fight to protect the people they loved.
